Professional Development

The Professional Development Committee offers chapter members additional professional development opportunities by providing for speakers at the monthly meetings, certification application and exam preparation assistance, and business analysis mentoring in the form of webinars, roundtables and professional development days.

The chapter also works directly with other organizations such as local PMI and ABPMP chapters and Project Summit*Business Analyst World to arrange conferences and networking events that provide further career development opportunities.

Monthly Chapter Meeting Topics and Speakers

The Speakers Committee identifies topics and speakers to present at the monthly chapter meetings. Presentation topics align with BABOK knowledge areas, tasks, techniques or underlying competencies in order to qualify for Continuing Development Units (CDUs).  See the Speaker Volunteers page for more information and volunteer opportunities.

Certification Assistance

The Certification Committee hosts a minimum of two certification exam preparation study groups in a year and more frequent certification application assistance sessions. More information is available on the Certification page. See the Certification Volunteers as page for more information and volunteer opportunities.

Mentoring

The Mentoring Committee plans and host monthly webinars and roundtables to provide members with opportunity to learn from each other. At least one professional development day will be scheduled each year, which will provide instructor led training on a relevant topic. Such training will qualify for Professional Development (PD) hours towards your certification application.
