We Are Never Alone. Our Chapter President shares the community support she felt while attending last year's annual event.
No matter how alone we feel some times, we have to remember that if we show up, other's will too. Nothing proved that to me more than my experiences at the 2023 Project Summit / Business Analysis World Boston conference.
First, there are our friends at corporate who make the trip, like Denalkis Serra and Jenn Bedell. These ladies made the trip to represent the greater organization and did not hesitate to cover the table so I could attend a few sessions and have a break. Denalkis made one-on-one time to talk about chapter affairs and get ourselves on track.
Then there are amazing speakers like Vincent Mirabelli and Hans Eckman. They share their love for our profession by being willing to be vulnerable and share the knowledge they have gleaned over many years. Last year they got personal, telling stories of "failure" so others could learn from what they had been through,
Finally, it's the face of a business analyst who is a natural when they discover they not only have a valid approach to the work, but they also l have this rich community to lean on and tap into. It is a brilliant reminder of why we joined IIBA and why we decided to volunteer.
All on all, my spirit was renewed by the great support of all of these things, and we made some great progress getting back on our feet this year. For that, I am so grateful. Looking forward to PS*BAW Boston 2024!
